The closest option directly on the island — only about 15 minutes from Palmetto Dunes. It’s a small airport, so flights can be a bit pricier. Rental cars are available.
SAV
About an hour from Hilton Head, with more flight options. Rental cars and Ubers are available to get to the island. For Columbus-area guests, Allegiant Air offers direct flights from Rickenbacker (LCK) to SAV.
Getting Around
We highly recommend having a car while on the island. Rideshares and Ubers are extremely limited (especially at night), so plan to have a vehicle or coordinate with other guests to carpool and/or designated driver.

BOOK EARLY
October is a popular time to travel to the island, so flights and accommodations may fill up quickly.
PACK SMART
Days are typically sunny and in the 70s, with cooler evenings in the 60s. Light layers, sunglasses, and sunscreen are all great to have on hand.

TIME MANAGEMENT
If flying in to Savannah, allow extra time for the ~1 hour drive to the island.
If flying out of Hilton Head, allow extra time for boarding. Because the airport is so small, the line to get through security can get long as everyone arrives for the same flights at the same time.
If driving, the traffic on and off of the island on Saturdays tends to be heavy as many standard week-long rentals are flipping on this day.
